June 4, 1:00 p.m.

The Pack 565 Graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday June 4 at 1:00 p.m.

Every scout should attend

This will be our last pack meeting of the 2010-2011 year.  It is your final opportunity to receive awards in your current rank.  At the end of the graduation ceremony you will take off your old neckerchief and put on a new neckerchief.  From that point forward, all activities that you do will count toward the next rank.

Registration form

Fill out the on-line registration form at

The graduation ceremony will be held at Mahoney State Park.  A vehicle entry permit is required in order to drive into the park.

Bring guests

Guests are welcome at this event.  Scouts, invite your grandparents or other relatives and friends to spend the day with you.

Pot-luck meal

The graduation ceremony will be preceded by a pot-luck meal at noon on Saturday, June 4.  All guests are welcome to participate in this pot-luck meal.

What to bring

Scouts, bring your "Class A" uniform to wear during the graduation ceremony.  Bring along a "Class B" shirt that you can wear for the activities before and after the graduation ceremony.  Bring lawn chairs.  Bring food to share at the pot-luck meal, (please bring a quantity proportional to the number of people in your party).  Scouts may want to bring water squirters and swimwear.  Don't forget your camera.

Full day of activities

There will be a full day of activities on Saturday June 4, starting in the morning, followed by the noon meal and graduation ceremony, and continuing into the afternoon and evening.  Participate in as many of the activities as you care to.  But certainly participate in the graduation ceremony at 1:00 on Saturday, June 4.

Optional family tent camping

Pack 565 has reserved camping spots for optional family tent camping on June 3 through June 5.  Camp one night, or both nights.  Scouts must be accompanied by adults.  Each family must bring their own camping gear and food.  If you don't have gear, don't let that keep you from camping.  Gear can be borrowed!  Electricity is available.  There is a nearby shower house with warm water and flush toilets.

Campfire and flag-retirement ceremony

Saturday evening there will be a flag-retirement ceremony and campfire.  Bring any worn-out flags that are ready to be retired.

Cubmaster breakfast

On Sunday morning, have breakfast with the cubmaster.  This year we're going to cook donuts and eat them while they're still warm!  Messy cooking is best done outdoors :-)

Optional activities at the park

Mahoney State Park has many optional activities that you and your family may want to take advantage of.  There is a water park with wave pool and water slides.  There is horseback riding, miniature golf, frisbee golf, a climbing tower, paddle boats, a fishing pond, hiking trails, and more.  And right next to Mahoney State Park is the Strategic Air Command museum, featuring an impressive collection of military aircraft.  Plan to camp overnight so that you will have extra time on Friday and Sunday to take advantage of the many things to do at Mahoney State Park.  More information about Mahoney State Park is available on the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission website.
